Our Story & Mission

Built on experience. Driven by heart. We are here to support your homeschooling journey.

Meet Kristie Owens: Expertise Born From Experience

My journey into special education began at home, where I worked tirelessly to adapt learning experiences for my own autistic children. Seeing how individualized instruction could spark genuine progress and confidence inspired me to bring that same level of care and creativity into the classroom.

As a special education teacher, I quickly recognized how rigid systems and standardized approaches often failed to reach every child. I became passionate about adapting academic standards in ways that meet children where they are, making learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all.

That passion led to the creation of Autism Homeschooling, a space dedicated to practical, research-informed tools that bridge the gap between educational standards and real-world learning.

My Foundation: The Blend of Heart and Expertise

I hold a Master’s in Educational Psychology with a certificate in Neuropsychology and am completing a second Master’s in Special Education, alongside certificates in Curriculum and Learning, Literacy, and Disabilities for Post-Secondary Settings with an Emphasis on Autism.

My work is deeply collaborative, often developed alongside speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists to ensure that each resource supports communication, sensory, and functional skill development alongside academic growth.

This blend of personal experience, classroom practice, academic study, and interdisciplinary collaboration shapes everything I create, resources that are both evidence-based and responsive to the unique needs of every learner.
